Where to Hop Inn when in Hong Kong?

If you go through all the hotels listed in Agoda, Booking.com and all other booking sites, seems that looking for a hotel to stay in Hong Kong is quite costly and over-priced. But due to an extensive (WUW! Haha!) research, I was able to find the PERFECT place for a 1st timer in Hong Kong like us!

And that is… Hop Inn On Mody.

Location:

Address: 5/F Lyton Building, 36 Mody Road, TST, Kowloon, Hong Kong

At first, you might have a hard time to look for it so this is how it looks like outside:

Grabbed photo from Hop Inn’s website.
Look for this sign and head to the 5th floor.

Just make sure that once you are in East Tsim Tsa Shui MTR Station, look for Exit N1. Once you get off, just look for the Spring Deer Restaurant and you’ll know you have reached your destination. πŸ™‚

To encourage you more, here is the view from our room itself…

That’s the East TST Station Exit right thurrrr! πŸ˜€

Also! To add on to the excitement, just 2 blocks away is Ichicran! A very famous ramen house <3

Rooms:

There are 2 options to choose from when you choose to stay in Hop Inn — Room Types and Dormitory

A short description of the rooms from Hop Inn’s website:

Single room provides 1 standard single bed (3 x 6’2 ft) in a room. Standard double room provides 1 standard double bed (4 x 6’2 ft) in a room. Deluxe double room provides 1 queen-size bed (5 x 6’2 ft) in a room. Twin room provides 2 single beds or 1 bunk bed (double decked) in a room. Triple room provides 1 standard single bed + 1 standard double bed or 1 standard single bed + 1 bunk bed in a room. Quadruple room provides 1 standard double bed + 1 bunk bed or 2 bunk beds in a room. Group chamber provides 4 bunk beds in a room.

Dormitory provides 6 – 8 female beds with private bathroom or 4 – 8 mixed beds with public bathroom, all equips with bunk bed (3 x 6’2 ft).

During our stay, we opted to stay in their Deluxe Double Room for privacy. And don’t forget to indicate during your booking that you want a room with a window as there are ones that do not have. But of course, it will still depend on the availability.

We had a Double Room with a street view of Tsim Sha Tsui. It was amazing!
The bathroom had an industrial finish. And spacious enough!

We had indeed a good night sleep! And to add up to the charm of the whole hostel, these hand-painted walls are well thought of. And awesome! <3

AMENITIES:

In a hostel, we always think that — is it clean? Is it quiet? Does it have complete amenities like ones in a normal hotel? Well, I can definitely answer you that with a YES! And I think they even have more.

Once you get off the elevator on the 5th floor, you will be immediately greeted by these πŸ™‚ look at what they have on the time of your visit. They do have Free Beers and other promos πŸ™‚
We had to check-out early in the morning so there’s a note. But the person who mans the booth is just sleeping inside that space. So just call them out. But this is where you will settle all check-in and checkout transactions
They also have a desktop which any of the guests can use if they need to πŸ™‚
They do sell a few uniquely designed Post Cards as a souvenir πŸ™‚ not bad for the price.
This is the common area where guests, usually the ones staying in the dormitory, hangs out and meet new people! It would be fun πŸ™‚
Books and free stuff inside the common room πŸ™‚

These are the rooms of the dormitory. Which was just right beside the common area. Wasn’t able to take photos of the inside as it was 5am and everyone was sleeping.

A few reminders from Hop Inn to their guests πŸ™‚
This is the kitchen where can guests can freely use these too πŸ™‚ just don’t forget to wash the dishes after!
You can also stack some goods in the ref if you need to. πŸ™‚
That’s me on the camera! πŸ˜€ 24 hour CCTV.
There is a separate door for the rooms. When you get out of the elevator, it is the one on your left. One needs to have access to get inside. Very safe!!!
These are the doors of the rooms <3
At the end of the hallway, there is a coffee and water dispenser πŸ™‚

Value for Money:

As mentioned, looking for a good hotel in Hong Kong is quite expensive but Hop Inn is not one of those.

Double Room for 4 days and 3 nights = 11,057 pesos only!

Overall Rating:

Without any doubt, I give Hop Inn a 5-star! <3
